Strelitzia is a young Sydney based ensemble comprising, for this performance, Eleanor Betts (Violin/Cello), Rowena Turner (Clarinet) and Jeremy Eskenazi (piano).

The ensemble is deeply committed to promoting Australian music by both emerging and established composers, and this features heavily in their programs. Strelitzia is also passionate about bringing their music to as wide an audience as possible through regional touring and performances.

Eleanor Betts has performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and ACO as well as a number of overseas orchestras. In 2010 she was chosen as one of the ACO’s emerging artists. Eleanor works mainly as a freelance Cellist in Sydney. French pianist, Jeremy Eskenazi, is both a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. He has performed in many venues around the world and holds a PhD in Performance Practice from the Royal Academy of Music. Rowena Turner performs regularly as a freelance clarinettist with the Opera Australia Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Malaysian Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the Les Miserables orchestra in the 2015 Cameron Mackintosh production in Sydney. She has recently commenced a full-time playing position with the NSW Police Concert Band. All three musicians have a most impressive musical background and training.
