Phoenix Collective’s Baroque Trio concert Excitement & Flair received audience accolades praising its diverse program and uniqueness of sound colour. The Baroque Bizarre will include quintessential works by master composers such as J.S Bach and Vivaldi as well as works from lesser-known composers Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti and Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (including Biber’s use of scordatura, the technique of altering the normal tuning of a stringed instrument to produce unusual effects and colours).
