There are not many AGM’s that are as interesting as Music Shoalhaven’s. We don’t just have a meeting - we showcase some of our talented local performers.

We use our AGM performances to encourage performers who are experienced and as well as those beginning their musical journeys.

Our special performers at this AGM will be Evelyn Parrish–Gibbons (Flute), Sarah Turvey (Flute) and Jane Ryan (Piano).

Evelyn Parrish-Gibbons is a student at Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts. She enters into Year 11 this year. In 2017 Evelyn received a Merit in Grade 8 Flute from Trinity College London and has now begun work towards her Associate Diploma as well as preparing a number of pieces for performance as part of her Music course for the HSC.  Evelyn has been a student of Sarah Turvey’s for the past 3 years and enjoys learning a variety of repertoire, playing flute and piccolo in her school Musical Productions and taking opportunities to perform in concert.

Sarah Turvey is a local flute and singing teacher, performer and Arts Manager. She has taught privately for almost 30 years and has also taught in a number of schools. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education (Merit) from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, A.MusA. in Singing, LTCL in Flute and MA Arts Management. Whilst studying singing in The Netherlands in the late 1990’s, Sarah attained UM and VS Diplomas in Performance. Sarah has performed, recorded and toured with many groups in Australia and overseas and currently enjoys running her home teaching studio and performing locally.

Jane Ryan from Bomaderry, is a wonderful pianist, accompanist, repetiteur & piano/theory teacher. She performs at weddings & other functions. As a piano teacher, she prepares students for exams, eisteddfods, and concerts.  Jane is a sensitive and proficient accompanist and repetiteur, who has had many years of experience working with instrumentalists & singers of all ages.  Jane studied piano under Raisa Dobrinsky in the Russian tradition of playing. As a teacher, she is a firm believer that good technique & careful listening are both imperative in achieving a beautiful sound. It gives her great joy to be able to encourage others in their giftings.

To help with parking:

  1. Try to carpool if you can.
